Thanks to the professional motocross riders that received the Kul Lite Rider vest at Freestone County Raceway. Texas was hot and one rider tried it on the first day. Walking around the track Saturday reminded me that there needs to be a comprehensive heat management strategy for race day.
Race day has 4 scenario that require heat management.
1 – Lining up (20 min in the sun waiting)
2 – Racing (45 mins)
3 – Post race cool down. (15 to 20 mins)
4 – Track walking/Mechanics
Professional racers want performance as a first priority, cost is not an issue. Most professional races in the summer are in humid climates. For the professionals, the Cool Pack Vest is ideal. The constant 58 degree cool vest will allow the racer to concentrate on the race and not the weather. The mechanics and support personnel would also benefit from the cooler core temperature.
For the professional racer that does not like the size and weight of the Cool Pack Vest, the Kul Lite Rider will keep them cool during the race. We would still recommend a Cool Pack Vest for pre-race lineup and track walking.
